Cal State Business Schools

I currently live in Texas and am looking to transfer to a Cal State School. Does anyone know the rankings of the schools in terms of the business program?
Right now, I am looking at Fresno State, but it really seems like every Cal State school has an International Business major. Out of the schools, which one is the best in terms of networking, future job opportunities and college lifestyles?

In particular, how is life in Fresno? Is it more of a commuter school? Is there a lot of culture? How does it's business program rank in comparison to the other Cal schools as well as schools across the nation?

Thanks for the help,

Fresno State, San Diego State and Chico State are probably the least commuter-oriented Cal States (disregarding the Polytechnic campuses).

San Diego State arguably has the strongest business program out of the Cal State system.

I just question the value proposition...you will be paying a higher out-of-state rate when you can get the same education within Texas for a cheaper price.

I think the strongest are Cal Poly SLO and SDSU.

I agree with UBC, none of the Cal states are worth paying the OOS tuition for when you have equally good or better schools in your home state IMO. They are overcrowded, it's hard to get classes you need and are 4th tier schools experiencing a budget crisis.

Cal Poly SLO is not a 4th tier university. The class it enrolls has a higher GPA and SAT than all UC's except UCB, UCLA and UCSD.

My cousin went there for engineering and recently got a job at Google. He's had an easier transition than his co-workers because Cal Poly emphasizes application as opposed to theory in its courses.

SAN DIEGO (Friday, Aug. 18, 2006) –San Diego State University’s undergraduate international business program ranks No. 10 in the nation, according to U.S. News and World Report’s "America’s Best-Colleges 2007 Guide."

The major, offered jointly by SDSU’s College of Arts & Letters and College of Business Administration, is the largest international business program in the country, with more than 700 students. The rankings are posted on US News & World Report - Breaking News, World News, Business News, and America's Best Colleges - USNews.com today and will be on newsstands next week.

Dean O. Popp, the new chair of SDSU’s International Business program, credits the program’s success to its combination of committed students, a history of strong leadership and a cohesive curriculum of language, business courses and study abroad requirements.

"Our international business program prepares students to excel in today’s global business place," Popp said.

The program is widely noted for offering the first transnational, triple-degree programs in the country (one with universities in Mexico and Canada, the other with universities in Mexico and Chile). The Institute for International Education also has recognized the international business program as the best study abroad program in the country – in any area of study.

SDSU also ranked 22nd for campus ethnic diversity and 30th for least average debt among graduates.

San Diego State University is the oldest and largest higher education institution in the San Diego region. Since it was founded in 1897, the university has grown to offer bachelor’s degrees in 81 areas, master’s degrees in 72 areas and doctorates in 16 areas. SDSU’s nearly 33,000 students participate in an academic curriculum distinguished by direct contact with faculty and an increasing international emphasis that prepares them for a global future.
