So yeah, I’m graduating in June and I have to think about which grad schools to apply to.
I’m applying to 3 UCs but I highly doubt my chances of getting in, so hurray for Cal States.

First off some info about me:

*GPA: 3.0
*GRE: Verbal 570, Quant 790
*Graduating from a UC majoring in EE, but going for CpE for grad school.
*Graduating a year early (thanks to summer school)
*Will have one quarter of research in Computer Engineering by the time I apply.
*Nothing else significant.

So yeah, here’s a few questions:

What Cal States are good? (I know the Cal Polys are, but that’s the extent of my knowledge)

Which ones do I actually have a shot at?

I’ve heard all these wonderful stories about the Cal States teaching practical things rather than cramming theory down your throat. Does this still apply at the grad school level?
