***Cal State Northridge - Class of 2021 (Fall 2017 Applications) Decisions***

Got in on 2/3/17
In state
ACT: 26
SAT (new): 1350
UC GPA: 4.05
Major: CTVA
Other schools I applied to: SDSU (accepted), CSULB (pending)

Currently, I’m stuck between CSULB and CSUN for my top school, if I get accepted to Long Beach. Will be a tough choice for me

Congratulations @olivia222! Are you not considering SDSU? Would you mind expanding on why you are torn between CSULB and CSUN? What makes CSUN most desirable for you? I love hearing new insight about campuses/programs I don’t know much about.

@BZ3Boys Thank you! I’m actually from SD but moved to Northern Cali last year. I love the area but personally would like to experience something new. Also, internships and connections to the industry would be easier to find in the LA/Burbank area. And, according to a CSUN rep, CSULB and CSUN are the two major rivals for film programs in CSUs. SDSU definitely isn’t out of the picture for me, since my parents like it the best and it has the honors program with the potential for scholarships. But, personally, I would like to go closer to the LA area, and another personal bonus for me, CSUN has a specific study abroad program that I’m interested in

Congratulations to everyone that was accepted!

Son was accepted on 2/3/17
OOS
ACT: 34
UC gpa: 3.9
Major: CTVA (film production)
Other schools he applied to: Columbia Chicago (accepted), Temple (accepted), UT Austin (accepted), LMU (deferred from film production), Chapman (pending), USC (pending)

@olivia222 Did you visit the CSULB campus? My son did a visit during our final tour of CA schools this past fall, and he hated the campus. He thought the film production facilities at CSUN were superior to CSULB and ended up not applying to the latter. We were surprised as he loved all the other schools he toured in CA. Good luck with your pending decisions.

@midwest98 I haven’t visited the film production facilities, I’ve only popped on campus briefly to visit a friend. That’s definitely nice to know, though! I’ll have to plan a visit soon to check it out as well, thank you for the tip

I called yesterday afternoon to check in on my status and was admitted today.

Got accepted from CC, live in CA.
Major; music
Gpa: 2.6
Transfer student
All golden 4 done.
ACCEPTANCE date: early march for music program. And late march for the university itself.

I’m kind of freaking out, I applied and got accepted into the Music program in mid-March but have not heard from the actual university at all. My GPA is 3.4 (in CA, from the Bay Area), and I have all of my GEs done except for 2 I’m currently enrolled in. The deadline for intent to register is May 1st and I haven’t even been told if I’ve been accepted or rejected. The anticipation is killing me!

@crazyalpacalady Have you heard anything back from them yet? Have you checked your portal?
I got admitted in late March, however, I have not received any email from them saying I was admitted. I found out by checking my portal status. I was provisionally admitted though, I dont know if that has anything to do with me not receiving an email.

I’m going to call them tomorrow, and see what the status is. I read on another board about how one student from my school last year had to go get a paper transcript and deliver it personally to CSUN because his transcripts got lost in the shuffle.

I called admissions and they told me that they hadn’t yet requested an updated transcript from my CC (for fall/winter) and that it would take two days to get it. They said I should call them next week for an update.

If you guys need to call, the phone number for admissions is (818) 677-3700

In retrospect I should have done the golden four earlier than I did but it is what it is.

Anyone here with an Admit for MS in EE Program??
