CAL STATE OR UC FOR GRAD SCHOOL?

I am a UCLA (soon to be) graduate with a Bachelors in Mathematics/Applied Sciences with a focus on Actuarial Science. My gpa is a 2.827(not that great). Upper div math gpa is 2.6-2.7. I am a female. I have applied to three Cal States so far and have been admitted into CSULA for a M.S. in Mathematics. Should I take the acceptance or does anyone think I have a chance at getting accepted into a UC or even USC for a Masters in Mathematics? How would it look to future employers getting a B.S from UCLA and an M.S. from CSULA? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

What kind of work will you be looking for? Why aren’t you going to work now instead? And did you apply to any other UC or is that just speculation? I don’t know if you will get accepted without aa 3.0

I agree that your chances of getting admitted to competitive master’s programs are low with a sub-3.0 GPA, for now. So the question of whether you should take the CSU acceptance or not hinges on whether you are really committed to doing a master’s in math right now, or whether you wouldn’t mind taking 2-3 “off” from academics and working full-time in your field. Some distance/time between your undergrad and when you apply for the master’s would help, especially if you work in your field and maybe take a graduate-level math class or two - and do really well in them.
