<p>Hi guys, I really want to get into Cal state San Bernardino and I want to know my chances. But first I was wondering about something else, I got a D in algebra 2, 2nd semester and the next year I got a B for a final grade in pre Cal. Does that B cancel out the D I have because I took a more rigorous course? Anyways, I currently have a 3.001 GPA and my sat score was about 1390, my first time and I real retake, and I will soon take my act. If I do good my senior year, getting A's and B's, what would be my chances on getting in? I took 2 AP classes and got A's. I want to be a registered nurse*. Thanks guys!</p>
<p>No, it does not cancel out. You got a bad grade for whatever reason, but you took a higher class and did alright. That looks good. Doesn’t erase the grade, though. If that’s your combined SAT score with writing…I would retake bigtime. That’s not good (below national average score of 1500). If that’s out of 1600 (math plus critical reading), that’s great! Your GPA isn’t that great, though. My sister came in with a 4.0 GPA but had only a 1470/2400. I don’t know the breakdown for her math and verbal, but she got in and is currently a student there (upcoming sophomore). I wouldn’t aim for any B’s. Try really hard to get A’s. 3.0 is good but not great. Also, what do you want to major in? Are you local? </p>
<p>Post your Math + Verbal SAT score. I think a 3.0 GPA might get you in, though. But that’s on the low end. I think if that was your math + verbal, you’re a shoo in (provided you continue to do well).</p>
<p>A B in precalculus will validate all of the lower level math courses for the purpose of fulfilling the a-g course requirements, but will not erase the D for the purpose of calculating your GPA.</p>
<p>Nursing (Basic) is impacted at all CSUs except for Monterey Bay. Nursing (ADN to BSN) is not impacted at more CSUs.</p>
