@TooOld4College That high GPA Rejection has me worried lol When did you apply? Maybe they are sending out acceptances/rejections in chronological order. I applied Oct. 28th
@CSUADTHopeful Oooh, maybe… I applied November 14th… yeah, now I’m worried too :-SS
But I also got to thinking a little more about transfers. My previous coursework (prior to Fullerton College) was not so stellar. Some A’s, B’s, and C’s… but unfortunately, mostly U’s. I didn’t follow through very well on things back then. But here’s the thing, apparently only 70 units are allowed for transfer. If this is true and is the case, then my GPA for transferable units maybe much higher. If I calculate it for the 70 units that I have with grades, then my GPA is 3.70 versus my posted cum GPA of 3.0 (which included all the classes with U’s and about 90 units attempted). Additionally, some classes are repeats of the other, just at a different college. Who knows how they’re gonna figure it. I just feel bad whoever gets my stack of transcripts. X_X
They’re asking for my final transcripts in the to do list, but it says they haven’t made a decision on my admission
@TooOld4College Ahh this is so stressful!! & yeaa only 70 are accepted but I think they base it on cumulative in general. On my unofficials I have a portion that shows my GPA from my community college and another section below it that says “CSU Transferable GPA” and I’m pretty sure that’s what they look at. I’m with you though, I used to attend an Early College High so I started taking college classes at 13 years old. Naturally I didn’t take it seriously and messed up. So I have had to retake about 3 or 4 classes to replace the grades and I’ve attempted 93 units by the end of this spring semester. Long Story short I went to a counselor too late lol I thought I knew what I was doing and I didn’t. So by the time I visited a counselor they said I was graduating in 1 year and I had to start applying to colleges in 3 months. That was definitely a shock lol I didn’t know I was graduating so soon x)
@cantcode For Spring 2017? Check on the details of that to-do. I have the same request and my unofficial transcript for Spring is due by June 23 and my official one is due July 17. I’m assuming this is a provisional request if I am officially accepted. My status states they haven’t made a decision on my admission, too.
@tooOld4College It just says to send in my final transcript when final grades are posted. It probably is provisional since it’s had that accept/decline option stuff for awhile.
@CSUADTHopeful Wow, that’s interesting. I’ve never heard of such a school, well at least not back in the late 70’s and early 80’s when I was in school. I’m with ya, I kinda thought I knew what I was doing (or at least didn’t bother to ask anybody for help). When I was accepted to Cal Poly, SLO out of high school, I found out the week before I graduated. I was going to stay in school for my senior year if I wasn’t accepted. Didn’t matter. I blew it anyway. As for getting in to CSUF now, I’m sure you’re right that they look at the Cum GPA. I’m just super stressed and searching for reasons… answers… comfort… anything. If I had hair… I’d be pulling it out right now ~X(
@cantcode It’s still a good sign, especially since it doesn’t say “rejected”. Keep the hope alive [-O<
@TooOld4College It is good I haven’t been rejected but when I see others that has gotten rejected with better stats, it almost feels like they’re just stringing me along because they can lol
@cantcode hahaha I couldn’t agree with you more
@TooOld4College Yeaa the program was introduced in the 2000’s and I’ve only heard of 3 schools like mine but i’m sure there are more! lol It’s a great program and opportunity for those who’s lives are completely dedicated to their education in high school. Unfortunately sometimes I would pick fun over homework which was terrible but hey I was 13 X_X & yeaa lemme tell ya…I have hair and it’s getting thinner by the day :((
@cantcode agreed!! So stressed right now
Does anyone know if schools will still take you if you have every requirement. But still missing one General Ed class? ? Because I will have all my classes done but, I dont think I will be able to pass my Humanities class. I dont want to stay in the class finish with a D, not only will it not count but it will also lower my gpa? Anyone know any info on this. Dont tell me I have to stay behind for one year just because of a General Ed class !
@gencheezzy Yes they will. I was in the same situation and my counselor told me that it shouldn’t be a reason why schools won’t take you. So I dropped the class and a few days later I got admitted into CSUN, so yes they will take you.
Got accepted to San Marcos…still no word from Fullerton. I wish they would at least send SOMETHING instead of pending forever.
I’m trying to be hopeful that they’ll let us know soon but it’s so hard lol. Maybe next week!
Visited San Marcos today with freshman daughter. It’s nice in the surface but something that I can’t explain felt off about it. This is in relation to a live on campus freshman female.
I feel like the San Marcos campus is just in an interesting area, like it’s trying to be this incredible school in the middle of a desert. They have two locations though, I haven’t seen the Temecula one yet which I would be attending should I get into their online degree program (my plan be if I don’t get accepted to CSUF )
Plan B*
@CSUADTHopeful I think my plan B is Long Beach, its just an hour from me but I would be stuck in 3 hours of LA traffic! I really hope Fullerton takes us haha
So I read this old forum and it kind of made me feel better. A lot of people last year didn’t hear back till the end of April… http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/california-state-university-fullerton/1881914-cal-state-fullerton-anyone-else-still-waiting-to-hear-back-from-them-p4.html
