<p>Hi! I'm currently trying to choose between Cal Poly SLO and LMU and Gonzaga. I know this is a very broad question, but what makes a state school better than a private school or vise versa? Much appreciated!</p>
<p>You need to look at the dozens of factors. Class size. Advising system. Overall number of students. How hard it is to get the classes you want. Focus on the undergraduates. Where students live. Who recruits on campus. Whether classes are taught by grad students or professors. With the professors are tenured, or temporary visiting faculty. What type of students tend to enroll at the school. Whether the college is a commuter campus or not. These are some starting points, I’m sure you can come up with others.</p>

<p>If there is a difference, how big is it?</p>
<p>What is your major, and what is your goal for after your bachelor’s degree?</p>
