Cal v. UCLA: apples and oranges

Yeah, cause voting for these things really can make sense, as everyone sees every other person's complete class at all universities. Aren't you at least going to cite a source, needadvice? The methodology of the ranking?

Why GentlemanScholar doesn't get banned for violating the terms of the forum's disclaimer about making insulting and hateful comments I have no idea. The mod gods must really be biased.

I wouldn't say Cal students are smarter, perhaps more focused on grades and academics is a more proper way to think of it.

it all depends on how you define "smart"

DisgruntledCalStudent? Hmm, wonder who that could be.

genxyboi20, you should talk to a counselor pronto about transferring. The UC schools only accept frosh and juniors as incoming students, with a few exceptions. You need to find out if you will fit into an exception, or explore what other options you may have.

disgruntled cal student is not me, if thats what you think you were so cleverly insinuating gentleman. As far as getting into UCLA, no i didn't get in. As gentleman points out im not even smart enough to go to Cal. I've already looked into transfering to UCLA as well as one or two of the private schools i regret turning down. If i get into Haas, i will most likely suck it up for two more years and stay. I mean who can turn Haas down...cept Wharton kids.

"im personally done reading anything written by you."

I guess not.

Haas didn't seem great to me from the business classes I took.

There is a quota system for grades (25% get A's or something) but many tests and grades are not difficult enough to create a normal distribution, so it seemed like a lot of it was based on luck to me. Business students are generally nicer than the premeds though because you have to network.

Of course, the pay would be good if you dedicated yourself, but be careful about what classes you take.

Genxyboi20...Personally, I think Haas is over-rated. This isn't out of bitterness or anything, because I did take the 7 prerequisites--thus permitting me to apply-- and maintained a 3.733 for them, which would statistically probably get me into Haas, since the accepted median GPA is 3.64. However, I chose not to apply. So I guess some people would turn down Haas. It's not that big of a deal.

Business students are generally nicer than premeds but still anal and overly-competitive, which I guess is somewhat justified. However when you're unwilling to help a classmate out when the homework is NOT curved, then it's a little bit overboard.
