Yes, it's the last day to decide where to go next year and I still haven't made a decision yet.
I'm down to Cal and Carnegie
I like Carnegie, but Cal is also a good school and it's much cheaper (I'm a CA resident)
I really like the size of Carnegie and the small-school atmosphere of the place
Were would you go if you were me?
Btw, my major is mech E

Carnegie :)

From my perspective it is just a great school with a traditional campus inside a great city which is now getting better every year. You have Upitt girls just 5 min away and great job opps upon graduation (Newsweek's hottest college to get a job).

I think only good things can happen for it with 20% increase in apps this year and the Gates (Bill Gates) building starting construction as well as tech-oriented and other companies taking more interest in both CMU and Pittsburgh (Professor from CMU to head Google's department, etc)

I visited Carnegie and that's what I thought too.
Compared to Cal, after counting grants only, I'll have to pay $12k/year more for Carnegie. That's almost 50k to pay back after graduation.
I talked to some professors at UCLA (my dad used to work there and he knows some professors) who graduated from Cal and Carnegie, and most of them said Cal would be a better choice (including some profs. from Carnegie)
