<p>whatever you do, don't pick based on the name. cal and ucla campuses have very different feels. spend time at each and see where you'd be happy living for 4+ years.</p>
<p>where you're accepted doesn't matter - youre both in the college of letters & sciences for both schools. to do engineering or business or chemistry (at berkeley) or arts, you'd have to submit an application to their college [of engineering, etc]. so, either way, you face competition to switch . . . </p>
<p>this thread has been done a million times in college search & selection, uc berkeley, and ucla. i think itd be a good idea to do a quick search since . . . well, it's been covered head to toe.</p>
