I was asked to do a third monologue and do some ballet for her (I’m a ballet dancer)! It was a lot of fun and had a great time working with the auditioner.
nothing yet. people have been getting their acceptances on the 2nd and 3rd as usual. i’m pretty sure that means i’ll be getting my rejection soon. i dont think i’ll ever stop crying, haha.
@pvhkouta It’s not over yet! I emailed Rachel Park last week and she said they would be sending out acceptances that week into the next week (which is this week now)…so there’s still time! I am curious though…you said this was the only school you could afford to apply to. CalArt is pricey at $55,000 with room and board. They don’t give much in the way of merit aid (my D got $3500) so would it even be a good option for you? Most BFA Acting candidates apply to at least 10 schools. Actually the average according to our coach is 14-17 schools because the acceptance rates are so low. Did you really only apply to one?
Hi.
I didn’t have any money at the time I was filling out applications because I’d just gotten off paying a lot of bills and my mom wouldn’t help me. I’ve been dealing with everything on my own but it’s been really hard, at the risk of sounding childish. I was willing to take out a loan that would potentially ruin my life if it meant I could go to this school. This is earth-shattering for me. I’m proud for those who got accepted though.
I also know it was stupid to choose a school with such a low acceptance rate if I could only apply to one. But I think I would break into a million pieces if I couldn’t fulfil my dream of going to Calarts.
@pvhkouta I feel your frustration, my D also hasn’t received a response from Cal Arts. She auditioned for 7 BFA programs and is still waiting to receive responses from 4, did not get called back at 2 and redirected to the BA program at the other. Hopefully good news is on its way. Hang in there.
