Calc 1 or Calc 2

Hello,

I took the AP Calculus AB exam in my senior year and I got a 4. Now I wanted to know should I use that credit and just move on to Calc 2 at community college or do you guys recommend retaking it? I want to transfer to Berkeley and LA, so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Does your school have a placement test you can take?

Yeah, I passed the Calc 1 pre req, The thing is I’m an Math/Econ major so I’m a little hesitant about what I should do. If it helps, I understand calc a really well and calc b i understand okay.

If you want to boost your GPA go ahead and take calc 1.

I scored enough on the AB exam I took last year when I was a senior and i’m currently taking Calc 2, and it isn’t very difficult at all. It’s just like taking AB during your senior year.

I would go straight for 2 if I were you as it is also going to help you in the long run.

I called UCLA today and they said that I had to retake Calc One. Apparently they only accept 5s, which I found kind of strange but ah well, I guess I have no choice.

Any other Mathematics/Econ majors applying for transfer to LA and Berkeley (UCB is just econ) ?
