My first year (E School) is coming in with transfer credit from dual enrollment/community college for Calc 3 (APMA 2120). They’ve been pre enrolled in Calc 2. Should they drop that during open enrollment or is UVA actually expecting them to go back and take Calc 2? They got a 4 on AP Calc BC and haven’t received results yet from the math placement exam.
They should talk to an advisor and get the answer from the school. It may need to be repeated although credit is given for both a 3 and 4.
I’ll tell you this - calc 2 was much more difficult according to my son and he wishes (had a 5 in AB) that he listened to the student panel at Col School of Mines that said to repeat major oriented classes and to not take the credit. AP, DE and CC typically don’t equal the rigor of the four year school. My kid didn’t listen because like all, wanted the credit and had to WD.
Talk to the school though. Good luck.
