To current students: Which is harder? I have heard that Calc 2 is impossible and really tricky but I don't really know much about 3.

Calc II is definitelty harder. In fact, Math 116 is arguably the toughest intro Math class at Michigan.

Calculus II tends to be tricker at really any college while Calc 3 tends to be more about Calc 1 and easier.

Calc II isn't impossible. It's just that you are VERY likely to have a GSI who makes you feel it is (i.e. can't teach). The curve is pretty generous, though. I remember a 60% was like a B or something.

Does Calc 3 (Math 215) have a curve like Calc 2 (Math 116)? Thanks for your help, guys.

Take Calc 3. It's easier and looks better on your transcript. If you're inclined to take calc 2, make sure it is the regular calc 2 and not the applied honors one.

calc 3 isn't very difficult at all, i heard honors calc 3 is better (better profs and better curve).
