Calc 3 in the summer?

Is this a good idea? All opinions are welcome

yes?? I'm taking calc 3 over the summer. I guess its better to get it done sooner ya know

"Yes" are you unsure?

Is there any special reason why you need to take it in the summer--i.e, you are behind or have to repeat it? Also, what year are you?

If you are already on schedule I don't think there is a good reason to take it in the summer, you might as well enjoy them!

^Yeah. I rather spend 15 weeks on Calculus than to spend 15 weeks on a writing course... Maybe you can take some gen ed classes during the summer to clear up room during the regular semester for engineering related stuff (chem/physics/math/engineering).

I'm just finishing Calc 3 right now and it hasn't been bad (10 weeks). I liked it much more than Calc 2 and it seems that the material might help in Electricity and Magnetism this fall (I like learning the math in a math course first; that is one reason I wanted to get ahead in it.)

I started college in fall 05.I switchted majors from computer science to accounting. When I transfered to another community college, I switched my major to electrical engineering(which I'm going for now).
The reason why I'm thinking of taking calc 3 next summer is that I can transfer to a university by spring 2010. Forgot to mention that I'm taking calc 1 over this fall. Also, I only need to take the high math classes and sciences to transfer.

This Is my schedule:

Fall 08
Calc 1
Organic chemistry

Spring 09
Calc 2
Physics 1

Summer 09
Calc 3?

Fall 09
Calc 3 or differential equations?
Physics 2

Spring 10
Transfer?
Differential equations?

Fall 10
Transfer?

Calc 1-3, differential equations and physics 1 and 2 also the chemistry classes are the only classes I need in order to transfer.

Btw, about what year I am; I am technically a junior. I have 60 credits or more.

You really need orgo to transfer?

My fault it not organic but general chemistry

My fault I need general chemistry not organic

Gotcha

Well, in your case, summer classes will only help. If you take Calc 3, you can possibly start your major in Spring 10 and be a little ahead of the game. You really want to use your time efficiently and summer classes are a great way to do so.

Sounds like a plan
