Calc 3 Textbook Access Code

To those who have already taken Calc 3,

I am taking Calc 3 this coming fall and the required textbook is "Multivariable Calculus: Hybrid Ed (w/Access Code)." I found a couple copies on amazon under the title "Multivariable Calculus, Hybrid Edition (with Enhanced WebAssign 1-Semester Printed Access Card)."

What is the Access Code/Enhanced WebAssign 1-Semester Printed Access Card used for? Also, if I am buying a used book what does it mean if "the access code was used to activate online 7 months ago?" Will I still be able to use it to its full extent?

In my experience, none of those online access things that come with textbooks are used by any professors.

I’m pretty sure you won’t need it. But if you do or just want it, I’m pretty sure the publishing company will allow you to purchase an access code separately.

If we bought the regular version (not the hybrid version), can that still be used or must we buy the hybrid?
