Calc AB for Biology

This might seem pretty obvious, but should I be taking Calc AB if I intend to go into biology (or somewhere close to that)? For the first three years of HS I thought I wanted to go into English so I’ve taken advanced courses in English basically my entire HS career. All my other classes are AP and I won’t be able to take AP Lit and Calc AB together, that would be 5 APs total. Currently I’m enrolled in Statistics which is helpful but not as helpful as Calc. Though I argue that I’ll need to take both in college anyway. Also, this might seem shallow but I’ve had a crappy schedule all three years of HS and for the first time ever I’m getting a free seventh and it’d be even nicer to have a free 6th too. However that would mean taking just regular stats. Not to mention, would it look abnormal to colleges if I suddenly went from AP English and then my senior year slacked to regular or would it look better if someone like me who has ONLY taken CP Math is taking AP Calc?

If you go into say Computational Biology, you’ll need way more than Calc AB, so it’s possible you’ll need the advanced math vis a vis Calc depending on what you specialize in.

To be competitive for going into Biology you should probably have AP Calc.

also if you want to do pre-med, you would need calc

Switch out AP Stats for Calculus AB if possible.

Most Bio programs want you to complete at least Calculus 2 or Statistics as the Math graduation requirement. There are schools that require Calculus 3.
