Calc AB or Stats?

I'm a junior right now in CATA (College Algebra and Trigonometry honors, basically one level under Honors Pre-Calc but still an honors course none the less) and am formatting my senior schedule.

I'm 99.9% sure I'm going into Broadcast Journalism, therefore I won't have to take many math classes while in college. I have an A in trig, however I just don't really have a passion for math.

My question is, will I be missing out on the foundation for the few math classes I will take in college by choosing Stats over Calc?

Also, anyone in either class PLEASE weigh in with your experiences.

Thanks!!

You’ll probably be better off taking statistics. It’s more widely used in the sciences and real world for data and data analysis, as opposed to calculus, which is used a lot in engineering and physics. They’re both useful subjects, though.

In my case, math is more of a passion to me, so I took calculus AB and BC before taking stats this year (senior year). In my opinion calculus is more fun. :)
