Calc AB prereqs

What are the prerequisites for starting Calc AB?

Are there any concepts from Pre-Cal that I need to know by heart? I would appreciate any advice and tips too!

Be comfortable with basic trig identities - things like csc(x) = 1/sin(x), sin^2(x) + cos^2(x) = 1, and maybe sin(2x) = 2sin(x)cos(x). And know your unit circle.

Really, besides that…you don’t need anything from precalc that I can think of. Just don’t make dumb algebra mistakes and you’ll absolutely kill the class and exam.

Agreed with above - as long as you know Alg 2 / Trig pretty well, you’ll be fine.

Is it really a completely different way of looking at math? I’ve always had mixed math skills; I liked algebra and did pretty well in Alg2/Trig, but Geometry was awful for me. Precalc was a mixed bag.

Calculus is easy… Its the algebra that people mess up on! Geometry makes a return to an extent… sorry to inform you joshmay94. Well actually… Calculus is the culmination of your entire mathematical life. As they say… Calculus is the Dessert of Mathematics!

Ha, more like the DESERT of math to me :)

Well, geometry old nemesis, here we go again.
