calc ab vs bc

does it make a really big difference if senior year one takes calc ab instead of bc. mainly cus i've already had the ab teacher, and she actually teachers vs. the bc teacher who doesn't.

Obviously BC looks better on college applications and stuff, but I don't know about the teacher situation...

if i took ab, would it look like i was taking the easier way out or would it just be a small factor? (yeah the BC teacher doesnt teach. my friends who are taking it just teach themselves)

Depends what your prospective major will be. If it's something in the humanities, ie non-math related, it won't be nearly as big of a deal to take AB as if your major were engineering.

Either way, the choice almost certainly won't make or break your transcript. However, if you take BC and get, say, a D...well, that COULD break your transcript.

At least you have the choice of picking AB or BC.
My principal took AB away, saying that it wasn't really calculus. >_< Now I have no choice, but to take BC senior year.

I think that you should pick BC if you think that you can handle it, but if you don't like math and don't plan on majoring in something math-related, then take AB.

Do you know how the BC teacher grades are students? I mean like does she grade hard?

Why is AB not calculus? BC and AB are essentially the same, except for series/vectors/parametrics.

ya thanks guys.. im sure i could handle BC, its just im going to be editor in chief for our paper next year so everyday i have to stay after til 8pm, and i dont know, doing calc that isnt really taught to me late night isnt sounding so good. i have to choose soon though cus were scheduling. the BC teacher just doesnt teach thats all, i heard he doesnt give out a lot of hw either. but i heard AB is so insanely easy, like you dont even have to show up to class easy. (how are they different besides the whole 1 semester of college vs 2)?

We don't even have AB or BC officially at our school... we have "AP Calculus" and the teacher determines what he wants to do each year depending on the group of kids. Last year it was BC, I think he's doing AB this year.

"My principal took AB away, saying that it wasn't really calculus"
haha we need a badass principal like that.
