Calc AB- where are you at?

we are at Slope fields, and eulers method, and then skipping to integration by parts, and solid revolutions!

Dang, my class is really far behind. I knew we would be, though. I have a terrible teacher who doesn’t even understand what we’re doing. We just started applications of derivatives. Our teacher said we might not get to integrals this year. I’m flipping out. He also said we’re not going to review for the AP test.

Our current assignment is over the washer method. We skipped differential equations so we could focus more on applications of integration, but we’re still going to learn them.

@ Lolar7 - Wow, that sucks. Why did your class fall behind so much? My school has blocked scheduling, so we have Calculus every other day and we’re moving along fine.
I would recommend you get a prep book and try learning what you can yourself, because you guys are about 4 chapters behind everyone else.

Does anyone know what types of formulas we should memorize for the exam?

^ We’re also working on the Washer method, volume of shapes rotated about an axis, etc. According to our teacher, it’s one of the last things we’re learning.

i think we covered everything on derivatives. we learned about integrals last chapter, and we’re almost done with volumes.

@Lolar
Definitely get a prep book. Integration isn’t that bad. It’s more or less finding the antiderivative - having the derivative and finding the equation it was derived from (reverse deriving?) It really isn’t bad at all, but there is a bit much that it applies too, so get started now.

Oh yeah, just a few more days until my class starts reviewing :DDD

Started volumes of a solid of revolution last week, the washer and disk methods.

Optimization.

My teacher never prepared the students for the tests. Most get 3 or 2. But I won’t :)
