Calc BC and Calc AB?

My school allows you to take either calc AB OR BC your senior year, but not both. Our scheduling works so that you can only take one of these courses and only in your senior year. Next year i'm definitely taking BC, but i'm wondering, should i take AB too? Should i get that extra easy grade, or does the AB subscore on the BC test count like taking the BC test? Is there any advantage to taking both exams?

You're not allowed to take both the Calculus BC and Calculus AB tests in the same year.

Yo just take BC...there's not as much added to the AB material as you think. Besides, most colleges look at a 4 on BC in a better light than a 5 on AB.

Well taking AB is a good prep for BC and besides, why miss a chance to raise your GPA?

Extended summary:

You're not allowed to take both tests in the same year. BC isn't that much more material than AB, you could probably just study out of Barrons for the extra material and ask your teacher for help with confusing stuff.

If the AB class is much easier than the BC class, check to make sure the AB kids do well on the AB exam. If they don't just go BC. If not, you might as well get the easy classroom grade since the additional BC material isn't too extensive as long as you know calculus in and out.

I would (in fact, I did) just take AB, then self-study for BC. If you can fit both into your schedule, go for it; if not, just take one or the other.

Don't take both. It'd be like talking Algebra 1 and 2 at the same time.

Not true at all....more like Algebra I and Algebra I advanced at the same time. Regardless, it would be silly to be taking two classes that go over the same material, and it would look like you were being overly anal to admissions people.

Calc BC includes Calc AB
