<p>Right now, I'm taking Calc AB and barely pulling a B. I've heard AP Stats is incredibly easy (I've been an A/A+ student in math until I started Calculus) and I don't want BC to bring down my GPA next year (which is a 4.26 right now, weighted)</p>
<p>This is what my schedule (just core classes) for my senior year looks like:
AP Bio, AP Gov, AP Spanish, AP Language and either AP Calc BC or AP Stats</p>
<p>I run cross country/track year round and was also concerned about the amount of time I would have to study for these classes. </p>
<p>I want to major in something in the biology field (I'm considering the pre med route) and I know that Calc BC would "look better" on a college app, but realistically, which one do you think I should take?</p>
<p>Calculus. You'll already accepted into college second semester so track won't matter. And one more b won't kill your college chances. But you will be more prepared. If you have the fire to learn then you know that learning as much as possible is much more important than grades.</p>
<p>If you don't have time then go with stats. But you should try the hardest classes you can. My $.02</p>
<p>stats is easy but its boring and however useful it may be in real world applications calc BC is much more worth your time and it will prepare you for college math much more effectively. besides having taken ab already, semester 1 (which is a review of AB) will be a breeze for you and semester 2 will be harder, but since you'll be second sem. senior it won't matter anymore so win-win haha definetely do BC</p>
<p>AP Stats is mind numbingly dull! Also If you haven't already done it I'd take AP Chemistry, or Organic Chem if your school offers it since it'll be far more useful if you choose the pre-med route.</p>
<p>At our school, AP stats has a new teacher & is not the most experienced.</p>
<p>All the math geniuses & I who got like >95% in Algebra II, precalc, and calculus BC all ended up getting A-'s. The best mathemetician at our school got a 91% in the class. It's hard, boring, annoying, **** IT. I WANT TO DROP IT SOOOO BADLY. Calculus is actually fun REAL math.</p>
<p>Eh... Statistics will probably be more useful in a medical career than calculus but nevertheless AP Stats was the single most boring math class I've ever taken.</p>
<p>Take BC, last year I was in Stats with kids who were also in BC, every single one of them had a higher grade in calc. Stats is boring and actually easier to do worse in. BC looks much better anyway. Why are you taking AB before BC though?</p>
