Calc BC vs Stats

I'm a rising junior and this year I'm gonna take AP Calc AB. However all of my school obsessed friends are already planning their senior schedules so I'm putting some thought into the math aspect of it. I don't really have any preference to whether I take BC or stats senior year. I do know that I can't take bc without AB as a prerequisite so I can't take BC junior year. From what I understand stats (at least here) is easy while after AB, BC Is just repetitive. So what would colleges like to see? (That's the criteria I'm choosing on haha.) I'm likely a poli sci major.

According to my son’s GC and VP, BC is definitely more valued among college admission officers.

I’ve heard that for humanities majors they like to see stats in addition to Calc?

Since BC is more rigorous than statistics, I would imagine colleges would rather see BC than statistics. If Calc BC is repetitive after Calc AB, why does your school require you to take Calc AB first? At my school, it is very common for students to go straight into Calc BC. Is there a way that they would allow you to take Calc BC without Calc AB? Colleges (at least in my experience) tend not to look at your application based on your major first (at least for undergraduates), as your major may change throughout your undergraduate career.

Nope. They require you to take AB first and acknowledge that bc becomes a blowoff class. Nobody ever gets below an A in BC.

Take Calc AB (self-study BC parts) take the BC exam. Take Stats your senior year.

^This is very true

The BC exam is literally like 3 chapters more and that is it.

Also, Stats is pretty easy, so your senioritis won’t get in the way!
