Calc BC

I have had very good grades in math so far in high school. I am planning on taking BC my senior year. But, the teacher for BC is known to grade extremely harsh. I am sure I will get into UM, but I was wondering if they always look at 7th semester grades. Assuming I get in, how badly would I have to do in that class to get my acceptance taken away?

If you are taking it during your last semester of high school, that is your EIGHTH semester. If they look at your seventh semester grades, Calc BC will not show up as it is not in the seventh semester.

^
umm no
BC is a year-round class.
just don’t get a D or fail and you’ll be ok.

From the way the original poster wrote, it sounded as though they were a senior just now beginning the class. In fact, I am a senior taking Calc BC as a semester course – it can vary by school.

It sounds as if he is a junior (or sophomore or etc.) planning on taking BC his senior year. Either way, you still have to send them your final transcript.

Take the class. Math is too cool.

Im a junior and will be a senior next year. It is a year round course at my school. Right now, many seniors have Cs and even Ds. But, last year, all 18 kids that took the class got a 4 or 5 on the AP exam. But if I get a C or D, I’m worried that they will rescind the decision. Obviously, that would be long before I could take the AP exam. So, she grades extremely harsh, but she prepares you well for the AP exam. I was just wondering if it was too risky to take and if I should take Calc AB instead.

I love BC, but I would recommend taking whatever you feel most prepared for. Not everyone can handle BC and if it is that much of a worry for you, I would recommend talking to the teacher about whether you can handle the workload successfully.

ok
my advice then is that you should take another math class if possible… like ap stats or something. and then you should self study BC. it’s not too hard. but thing is for sure, you want to test out of calc2 at umich because that class is a beast.

Unless you are majoring in math like I am. In which case you should take calc 2. Better yet, honors mathematics I

Well, if I got a 4 or 5 like everyone else did, I should test out of it. Calc 2 a UM is really hard?
