So I'm signing up for courses right now and i'd like to get some input from someone who already took either MATH 121 or MATH 125, Calculus with Science and Engineering and just regular Calc respectively. Anyone have any suggestions on which class I should take. I got a 5 on the Calc AB Ap test (if that matters.)

Since you have a 5 on the Calc AB test, you should strongly consider going directly into Calc II (this is what I did!). Your intended major/path dictates if you should enroll in MATH 122 or MATH 126. MATH 126 is intended for life sciences/social science, whereas MATH 122 is intended for all engineering majors and related majors. You might be able to look up your intended major online, and see if it lists the required course.

If you’re not sure what you want to major in at all, it’s probably better to take 122, as any major that requires 126 can substitute 122 (but you should verify this is true…I don’t want to give you bad information), but not vice-versa. Also, if you need to take Calc III (Math 223) for you major, you will need to have taken MATH 122.

Thanks for the reply. But I don’t consider myself the greatest at math so I figure I’m going to go the 125/126 route. Also my major is cognitive science as a premed student. Now I just have to weigh whether or not I should take the AP credit for 125 because like I said I’m not very good at math…

Sorry about the double post but, also I took calc last year as in Junior Year so I’ve essentially gone a full year without Calculus…would it still be a good idea to test out?
