CALC I or HONORS CALC I?

DD will probably retake CALC I even though she should have the AP credit. do you think she should take reg. or honors?

i already wrote down some teacher recs for calc, but idk if they were reg or honors teachers.

who are the honors calc teachers? and which ones are preferred?

Dr. Paul Allen was my son’s Honors Calculus I professor. He says that he is just outstanding.

MikeWozowski: If your daughter’s doing Bama Bound in the next few weeks, however, chances are that the professors for the fall math classes will not be posted. The college usually does not post those professors until mid-July or so. So she will need to register first, and then later, she will learn who teaches the class.

yes, i saw that. i know i can’t pick a teacher now, but maybe when teachers are posted she might be able to move.

also, there are probably less teachers who teach honors cal than do regular calc.

: )

Getting into any Honors Calc I was hard enough, can’t imagine there will be much leeway for switching to a diff class/professor once they come out. IIRC there were only a few sections available unless they add more.

Yes, there are only 3 honors Cal I sections, but there are 12 regular Cal I sections.

Last fall, there were 3 different Honors Cal I profs…Sun, Allen, and Mai

In case anyone is still interested, UA has updated the professors for the Honors Calc classes and there is room in all 3 of them.
