I'm a current high school senior and I'll probably be at GT next year. I just found out that Calc II at tech is over half linear algebra? I took calc III my junior year and have taken differential equations and 4 other math classes this year, but have no experience with linear algebra... Will I have to retake all of Calc II and Calc III at tech?

I've made As in all of my math classes thus far, if that's any factor...

You will need to take the linear algebra course. I don’t remember which number it is, but gatech does offer a linear algebra only class.

How did you take Calc II and Calc III at your high school? I’m guessing dual enrollment with a college?

If that’s the case and you do get credit for Calc II & III, you’ll likely still need to take MATH 1522 which is the linear algebra only course. It mainly exists for transfer students, but it’s what you’ll need.

If you earned the credits via advanced course credits (though I’ve never heard of a high school offering Calc III nor Diff Eq’s), then you’re out of luck since Tech only allows students to exempt out of Calc I.

Hope that helped.
