Calc III or Honors Calc I/II?

How is the Honors Math program? I'm not planning on being a math major, but I want a challenge.

It's Notre Dame. Everything is challenging. I would talk to your advisor before you start taking the Honors track, regular math is challenging enough as it is.

I feel I can speak to this subject fairly well: I am a math major and am in the AL/SC honors program, so they automatically signed me up for the Honors Calculus I elective. To cut to the end quickly, I lasted two classes then switched into Calculus III. It was not easier or harder than Calculus III in particular, it was certainly different. I feel if you do not plan (or at least have an idea) on majoring in mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, etc., you should not need to take Calculus III, and if you want to be a math major, I would suggest getting ahead and taking Calculus III. Often times in the Honors track of Mathematics, only one section of a certain class is offered (for instance, they take FOUR semester of algebra, as opposed to two for regular track) and you can get stuck with a god-awful professor. Personally, I find the regular track challenging enough with enough depth of knowledge that can prepare you for many different fields. Do not let my opinion alone sway your decision, however.
