as a junior I took AP Calc AB at my school, but didn't take the AP test, though I did get an A throughout the entire year. as a senior, I've taken calc II at our local community college, and have received an A- throughout the entire year. i'll be majoring in tepper/biz next year. will it be possible to test out of calc I + calc II, if I do well on the placement test? how hard is the test? what else should i know about the placement test(s)? thanxs in advance.

you could test out.
Not likely that you’ll completely out of calc.
Imagine a whole student body as bright as you. The testing is geared towards that level.

It’s always a good idea to study a bit before you take the calc placement test. It’s an important test that determines whether or not you have to retake some semesters of calculus which can be a pain. Obviously, you’d rather not.

Advice I would suggest is to definitely review your material. Don’t take the test cold. It’s a pretty straightforward test although the series/sequences section tends to the trip the most people up. Be sure to study that.

Is there any benefit to taking the AP Calculus AB or BC test?

I remembered reading that if you take the AP Calculus test you still have to take the placement test. Is this correct?

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong…

I believe that your calculus placement is determined by the results of your calc placement test regardless of whether you took AB or BC at all.

But I may be wrong…
