Hey im gonna be a freshman at SMG this year!

it says "All School of Management students are required to take at least one calculus-based course, numbered CAS MA 121 or higher. "

i took ap calc bc this year but idk wat i got on the ap exam yet
i didnt do so well in calc but i heard the curve is ridiculous so im hoping i got at least a 3 >.<;

i think i heard that they take SAT II math into consideration too
i got 800 on math II
and on the math diagnostic thing i got 34 out of 35
do u think that could get me exempt if calc doesnt cut it?

lol i want to take japanese instead of math XD

The only thing that will get you out of Calc is a Calc credit on the AP. The Math II score or the Math diagnostic test does not exempt you from taking a Calculus course the first year. All you have to do is to get a 3 or higher to skip the Calc requirement. That’s all.

o ok
thanks for the info! :D

i didn’t know they changed the requirements for the math requirement this year? the majority of students take MA120 to fulfill the math requirement - it’s basically precalculus - if you’ve taken ab/bc it should be a breeze for you.

but yeah, the only way to pass out of the math req is to get a 3 on the AP exam or take a summer course. good luck!

welcome to smg! =]

thanks!
im so excited! :D
