I am a rising senior and I am currently deciding whether to take AP Stats or AP AB Calc next year. I've heard that stats is easier, but I'm not sure about what to do. I have already taken Geometry, Algebra 2 (Pre-AP), and Pre-Calc/Trig. I already have three other APs next year, so I'm worried that Calc may take up too much time (It is 3 tris vs Stats 2tri). Any advice you can give would be awesome!

What you plan to study is probably important here too. If you want to go STEM, you should go Calc. If you are going into something else like business, humanities etc, stats is either more relevant or easier when math isn’t crucial in your major. With 4 AP’s you won’t be knocked for taking the easy route so choose the class based on how useful it will be to you.

Stats is the first AP I’ve taken, and it was INCREDIBLY easy. It was actually a lot easier than many of my honors classes. I’d say it’s not hard at all of an AP to self-study, so I would take Calc if I were you. It all depends on your major, really.

In most cases, I’d say Calculus. Although, if you’re really concerned about being able to handle your classes next year, I’d take Statistics to make your life easier.
