Calculate my College GPA? (Cumulative?)

After tons of research and number crunching here is my calculated GPA but can you guys make sure I'm right?

(Important Notes)
*I added .5 a point for honors and 1 for Ap classes (Both Florida State and U of F explain that they also do on their site)

Freshman

Algebra 1 Honors 86
Enviorment Science 91
English 1 honors 92
World History 92
French 1 91

Sophomore

English 2 Honors 88
Geometry 93
Physical Science 92

Junior (current)

Biology Honors 94
Civics Honors 90
English 3 Honors 95
French 2 80 :(

===============================================================================

Okay, the reason why the three GPA's vary so much is because they each are calculated on different scales. Can you guys make sure I am indeed using the right scale for FSU and U of F (My high school GPA is very tough)

SCALES: (Not sure if accurate for U of F and Florida State)

My High School
95 = 3.875
94 = 3.750
93 = 3.625
92 = 3.500
91 = 3.375
90 = 3.250
89 = 3.125
88 = 3.00
86 = 2.75
80 = 2.00

Florida State (Couldn't find a scale so I used the College Board Scale)

97-100 4.0
93-96 4.0
90-92 3.7
87-89 3.3
83-86 3.0
80-82 2.7

University of Florida (Scale was found based off another CC post but not sure if accurate)

90-100 4
80-90 3
70-80 2
60-70 1

Please triple check if those scales are right for the Universities

RESULTS

My High Schools GPA*
(3.5416)

Florida State GPA*
(3.85)

U of F GPA*
(4.00)

I love you guys :)

Every college recalculates GPA’s differently according to their own institutional formula, so it’s possible that your recalculated GPA for 3 colleges, would result in 3 different numbers. So, I wouldn’t worry about it.

For the purposes of the Common Application, you should rely on the information provided by your high school. Ask your guidance counselor for that information, as you can just list the numerical grade of 90.38 on a 1-100 scale.

FWIW: If you recalculate your grades stripping the weighting off (which colleges do), I get:
Freshman year: 86 + 91 + 92 + 92 + 91 = 452/5 = 90.4
Sophomore year: 88 + 93 + 92 = 273/3 = 91
Junior year: 94 + 90 + 95 + 80 = 359/4 = 89.75
Total for 3 years: 90.4 + 91 + 89.75 = 271.15/3 = 90.38 on a 1-100 scale

Will the GPA that I put on the Common Application be 90.38? I’m just worried that my school’s harsh GPA grading scale will affect my admissions? Because a 3.5 and a 4.0 (Like I have above) is a huge jump and could mean rejection or acceptance right?

Also which one would I use to see what schools are my Safety, Match, Reach?

You would use the GPA your HS lists, not one you calculate yourself. If your HS does not weight classes (and many don’t) then you don’t do that either. Your HS Profile will tell the college how to view your GPA.
