Calculating Accounting GPA??

Hey guys. I've got core curriculum classes, major support requirements, and major requirements.

The major requirements are Intermediate Accounting I, Intermediate II, Cost Acct, Federal Income Tax, Advanced Accounting, Auditing, Econ 228, and Intro to Information Processing.

Would I calculate major GPA by using just these classes or would I have to throw in major support classes as well (Stats, MIS, Business Law, Macro and Micro econ)? I would prefer to calculate using just the requirements since it gives me a higher GPA. Thanks for any help!

You should list it as overall GPA and major GPA.

Major includes everything (support and major), so I think it is necessary to include all of those classes in your GPA.

Nah, prerequisites and core classes/business are not included into a major GPA, but only the major requirements are. ( last 24 or 30 credits) Usually, it suppose to say that on your college’s website: “Major Requirements,” which include upper level accounting classes and some electives. However, I guess that some people just take all the accounting classes and accumulate the GPA, but I’m not 100% sure which one of these two ways is more appropriate.

^^Yeah, on my school’s website, it says the major requirements for Accounting are:

Intermediate I
Intermediate II
Cost Accounting
Federal Income Tax
Advanced Accounting
Auditing
Money, Credit, and Banking
Intro to Information Processing
Calculus
Math for Accounting Majors
Accounting/Business Electives

So include all of those classes…

Oh yeah, I’m going to. But I guess what I’m asking is if it’s ok to include just these classes and not the other support classes? My GPA is higher with these classes than it is with the others included.
