Calculating GPA

Right now I’m a Senior in high school. I’m dual-enrolling full time at a college nearby me and due to my school’s policy, the classes I’m taking at college are only weighed as regular classes on my transcript. I’ve made all A’s in my college classes so far.

I am ranked 2nd in my class with a 4.417 GPA, I’m behind the person ranked first who has a 4.436. The problem is, the person who is ranked first is taking AP classes while in high school still. My friend told me because our dual-enrollment classes are only weighed as normal classes, even though I made all A’s my GPA will actually go DOWN since they are only a 4.0 weight or something like that.

Because of delaying/transferring issues, my current GPA is not taking into account the 5 A’s I received from my college classes. Will my GPA actually go down once these grades are transferred to my transcript? Or do I still have a shot at becoming valedictorian with 5 normal weighted A’s? I’m really bad at calculating GPA with extra points etc.

Thanks

I did the math and your GPA will go down as a result because the number one’s AP courses add 5.0 weight to theirs while yours add 4.0 weight. I’m sorry.

Ahhh I see. Well thanks for the help!

You’re welcome. If you have some extra points or other things, I could always calculate the exact thing for you. Let me know:)
