I have a question about calculating UC GPA
I took classes at the local community college that were UC transferable. It says in the application that these classes are factored into your UC GPA.
Do these classes have the same weight as a regular class you took in high school. Meaning, I class at my hs is worth 5 credits. So do these college classes also count for 5 credits?

no they are doubled so you get 10 credits

what if a college course is worth 4.0 units, does it count for 8 credits. how does this factor into calculating your GPA?

yeah it is 8 credits, wut was your grade in it, first of all if you have already taken 4 year long weihgted classes that mean that this class wont be weighted for you, but if you didnt then an A=5 B=4 C=3
which comunity college did u go to?

I went to the college of marin. I got an A in the class. My school only offers 3 AP/H classes up till this point so I guess it counts. So if I get an A in a college class, its like getting an A in 2 ap classes?

no its like getting an A in a year long AP class, you shoul sure with UC's by calling them, to see if it transferable, and ask them if it will effect your GPA

What if you took an "Intro" class @ a community college. Is that counted as an AP class or does it just make up for reg. chem in HS? Sry if it seems like i stole your post

what i would do is class a UC admission's office and tell them you are taking "blah" course in "blah" community college, and were wondering if it would count as an AP
