Hi, I just lost my calculator in time for finals. :( I'm about to buy a new one, probably the TI-83 Plus Silver Edition. I figured that I might need a new one for college next year anyway, so it's not that big of a deal. Does anyone know if that calculator is allowed by most engineering programs? I'm sure it's fine, I just don't want to waste money on a calculator that I won't be able to use for too long. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

im in elecitrical engineering and its either any calculator or no calculator at all. but most of the time they don't allow any calculators.

and i recommend a ti-89 instead of a ti-83 for the fact that you can check your homework assignments with it and it is a very powerful calculator that can do almost anything.

i rarely use my ti 89. i dont have to take any more math classes so my calc will collect dust for a while :)

if you're not going for the 89, why not get the 84 instead of the 83?

If you want a simple easy one, get the 84 Plus Silver.

I have an 89 and like it. I don't use it as much as I used to. As said earlier, it's either any one you want or none at all. So go for as much as you can handle/afford.
