calculator problem!

hi, i have a ti-84 plus (same as ti-83 basically).

I've been downloading some programs, like factoring and equation solver, but they have been making my calculator work improperly. So a few days after downloading these programs onto my calculator, whenver i try to graph something by pressing Y=, there is a wierd symbol to the left of the Y= thingy, instead of that \ symbol, and i can't graph anything. After I reset the RAM on my calculator, everything returns back to normal.

This had happened twice, the same thing. i'd like to keep these useful programs, but they keep messing up my graphing thing, and then I have to delete them and download them again every few days. Do you guys know what is happening?

thanx.

Well, for most math, you should just trade up to a TI89 and then you will not need any programs. I used to use a TI89, but for the GRE, you use nothing at all, so I have to do everything like in the olden days.

I think that you could archive the programs and then unarchive them and use them, then archive them again when you are done. Or you could go to that one Texas Instruments Unofficial Site and download more stable programs. I do not remember what that site is called exactly, on account of my no longer using the TI's anymore and all.

I think you downloaded some unstable programs. The Official TI site has programs for free also, you know.

Edited to add, I found the sites you need and stuff...

Here is the neatest one

Here is calculus

Here is their web ring

http://f.webring.com/hub?ring=ti

Here is a lotta stuff

I think that you can just hover over the place where the / is usually at and press enter until the / is there again.

Moose, i tried doing that, but the \ sign doesn't come upt. There are only wierd arrows.

MerlinJones, thanx for the sites. I'll be sure to download only the stable programs.
