calculator

i lost my TI-83+ and am going to buy a new one on ebay. However, I am unsure whether to by an 83+ model or an 89 model. I heard that the 89 is more useful on tests and in calculus, but that some universities do not allow it

please advise

I love my TI-89. If I had the choice, I would buy the TI-89. I have not heard of 1 university who has not accepted it. If you know any..please tell me.

I've also heard that many schools don't allow the 89 on tests. I've also heard of some that don't allow any.

I lost my 83+ too, and bought an 89. 3 days after I bought the 89, the kid who'd accidentally walked off with my 83 returned it. So now I have both, and I use them both (at the same time....talk about looking like a math dork). I use the 83 for number crunching and matrices and stuff, because it's easier to use than the 89. I use the 89 for Stats work (less to remember), and more complicated stuff that only the 89 will do.

lol.. same here except I have an 84+ and an 89.

I use the 84+ for physics, and easy stuff but I whip out the 89 when the hardcore calculus starts.
