what calculators do professors at vanderbilt allow? I've a ti-89 and don't really want to part with it to learn the ropes of an inferior calculator (jk). do they care? or no calculators allowed?

No calculators are allowed on tests, at least for 170a and 170b. But also, you aren't supposed to need a calculator for the level of arithmetic and pre-calculus math they put on the tests. Bring your 89 anyway for your science classes, where they don't give a whoot about what calculator you use.

I'm taking math 175, ES 140, and physics 116B this semester... would a TI 89 be sufficient for all three of those? Hopefully someone who has taken any or all of these courses can answer this for me. Thanks.
