Calculus 2 vs. PROMYS

Hi, if I should be posting in the summer program thread, just let me know ;o.

But anyways..

I was given special permission to take Calculus 2 over this coming summer for a month during July. Then, I could take Calculus 3/Linear Algebra during the regular school year.

However, I also want to apply to a program called PROMYS which has to do with number theory and competitive math (read more : http://www.promys.org/promys/Application12.pdf)

I don't know whether I should take the Calculus 2 over the summer and get ahead or apply and play my cards with this PROMYS program. Note: Cost is not an issue/Weather is not an issue/etc. I'm only concerned on what program is more worthwhile.

bumpp 10 char

I would take PROMYS

Obviously attend PROMYS!!! It will not only look better from an Admissions perspective, but it will enhance your overall interest in math. Honestly, it’s a no-brainer.

i don’t know… i heard the counselors at PROMYS are undergraduates… is this program really worth it? (I need a definitive answer ASAP b/c apps are due next tuesday)

bumppppppppppppppppp

By this time, if you haven’t finished your PROMYS application and solved the problems it is too late. But if your application is ready, send it in. It won’t hurt anything. Also, I STRONGLY reccomend that you choose PROMYS if you get in.
