Calculus AB textbook for selfteaching..

I started of my Senior year in a new school because I moved. I was placed into a AP Calculus AB class. 3 weeks passed and the teacher suddenly asked me if in my previous school they had covered the Trigonometry based portion of the class. I responded no, well because they hadn't. So she goes and says to me that she cannot and will not allow me to take the class due to me not having a trigonometry based background. I told her not to worry that I was an excellent independent studier and that I could teach myself the topic. She told me no that she neither had the time or the will to help me out in this situation. Meh.. Whatever, I told here ok. I was removed from the class, and I want to now teach her that I had both the will and potential to score a 5 or whatever the highest score is on the test, self taught.

I want to know what AP certified Calculus book I can buy to I can achieve this.

Also, what topics are critical to know for Calculus..

Thanks~

AP certified?
Most prep books aren't affiliated with CB.

I would suggest you check the sticky.

Thanks, I was wondering which book(s) should I choose from the following:

Barron's AP Calculus 2009 (Barron's How to Prepare for Ap Calculus Advanced Placement Examination) (Paperback)

Master the AP Calculus AB & BC (Peterson's Ap Calculus Ab & Bc) (Paperback)

Cracking the AP Calculus AB & BC Exams, 2008 Edition (College Test Prep) (Paperback)

Also are these books also good for individual studies?

AP Statistics - 5 Steps to a 5 AP Statistics, 2008-2009 Edition (5 Steps to a 5 on the Advanced Placement Examinations) (Paperback)

AP Chemistry - 5 Steps to a 5 AP Chemistry, 2008-2009 Edition (5 Steps to a 5 on the Advanced Placement Examinations) (Paperback)

I took a full year of honors chemistry and I'm confident that I can score good on the AP exam but I want to refresh my memory. Also in the physical science State Assessment, I managed to score a 90% on it which covered a lot of chemistry..

Thanks~

Barrons Calculus is really good.

meh, that's very unfortunate. your teacher is stupid... i took calc and precal at the same time right after algebra 2, calculus is concept based, it doesnt involve any trig, well its diff, having trig background isn't gonna give u a big advantage.
there were only some simple trig in calculus that u need to memorize.i really think u can handle it without trig background, because its not even need it!
i managed a 5,it's not too hard,im sure u can do it.
next yr when u get ur score, shove that 5 in ur teacher's face =D

ROGER THAT!!! lol, thanks for the support.. I'll also be taking AP Stats and maybe Chemistry. Any suggestions.?
