is it true that some medical schools don't accept it if you take calculus at a community college? i will be a freshman at UCLA in the fall and i plan to finish all the calculus courses at community college by the end of summer...so i hope my work wasn't totally useless.

i want to know too...im going to ucsd and there is a section on the premed area that says med schools require one yr of math in college regardless if u passed out of classes from AP exams. But will one yr of community college calculus suffice?) i mean, it DOES transfer gpa and credits to my app when i apply for med school doesnt it? so does that count as one yr of "college" math?

They will accept courses you take at community college but they won't like it as much as if you had taken it at your home institution during the school year. Obviously, if your schedule doesn't permit you to take calc during the school year, then you gotta do what you gotta do.

^^^ Exactly what I would've said.

As always, of course, if you do better at the CC than you would've at "home", that offsets (perhaps completely) the "hit" that you take for taking it at a less-rigorous institution.
