I need to take Calc I and II and just get it done. I took the placement test at De Anza, and though it was kinda tough, i might get into Calc I, but the thing is I heard a lot of Calc profs at De Anza are not the best, even for engineers to excel from what i hear and the good ones are always full when registering or on sabbatical, so should i look for better profs at Foothill or at another CC. Any recommendations? Anyone know where you can take Calc online that wasn't that bad?

Do your homework, go to lecture (or teach yourself from the book), redo your homework when the test is coming up and pay attention to how the test will be formatted.

Calculus really isn’t that bad. Just do the homework.

Getting into the “good” calc classes are next to impossible if you’re a new student with no early registration at de anza. I say go to foothill, I took Calc B,C, and D there and it was a pleasant experience.

Also, they sell the calc book in four parts, one each for each class in the series, for $30-40 each…

whattt really???
im a new student at de anza just for the summer though. i wanna take calc 2.

Actually getting into the “good” calc classes aren’t hard at all. From my experience usually 25% of the class drops out within the first couple of weeks after they fail the first test. I agree with whatasunnday 100%. Calc isn’t hard if you put in the effort.

has anyone taken calc III over the summer by any chance?

Calculus is easy…and just gets easier the further you get into it.

TAKE CALC AT FOOTHILL FOR SURE.

de anza math professors are not helpful at all and can’t explain/teach if their life depended on it.

I had a calc professor at de anza who would tell corny jokes the majority of the lecture and then teach the last 30 minutes… Apparently he thought making students laugh was more important then helping them learn. Sadly, there were not that many people left at the end of the quarter to laugh at his jokes.

where is foothill? is it far from de anza?

haven’t you already taken calc II since you are transferring soon?

“where is foothill? is it far from de anza?”

[Let me google that for you](http://■■■■■■■.com/m6erjs)

I recommend using Ratemyprofessors.com and picking out the best-rated professor from either of the two schools.

take note that De Anza will have classes that will fill up quickly, i believe it is the same thing with Foohill, but less so since there are less students

no i haven’t… im takin it over the summer.

thanks teabagger lol. i know that was a stupid question/

i assumed you took Calc II, because i thought you appealed for Business Economics which requires Calc II

yeah i know. i told them i’d take it in the summer… 2 people got in appeal though this year that said they’d take it this summer and appealed… bus econ. got in =)

Fellow De Anzan, I recommend you take calculus at Foothill unless you can get priority registration and sign up with the few good math teachers at De Anza. I’m working my butt off and pulling off only a B so far in Math 1C (it’ll be my first B since my first semester in college if I can’t raise it to an A). A lot of bad reputation from what I’ve heard and seen at De Anza: you have those teachers who can’t teach, but everything is based on the book (I prefer these kind of “bad” teachers because you don’t have to attend class and can still receive an A quite easily) and then you have those teachers who have a horrible problem communicating with the class and all their quizzes/tests are personalized and only sometimes follow the book (I’m currently in one). Do yourself a favor and go to Foothill.
