Calculus BC or Stat after AB

Hello all. I will be a senior this year. After signing up for Calculus BC at the start of last year (junior year), I found the class to difficult (Cs and Ds on tests) and transferred to AB after the first term. After switching, I had an A in the class and made 4 on the AP test. My question is that considering that I am thinking of majoring in engineering or computer science, is BC important enough to keep on my schedule, or should a take AP Statistics instead? Some threads I have looked over suggest that admissions people will look specifically for BC in STEM fields. However, Statistics is known as an easy and ‘fun’ class, and I am scared of lowering my GPA if I don’t do well in BC again. There is also the element of me wanting a ‘chill’ class senior year, but it would be obvious to admissions people I would not be taking the most difficult math available. The classes I am signed up for are:

  1. Off Period
  2. AP Lit
  3. AP Calc BC
  4. AP Bio
  5. AP Physics C
  6. AP Gov (1 semester) + AP Macro (1 semester)
  7. AP Euro

My options are:

  1. Dropping BC for Stat
  2. Dropping my off period for Stat
  3. Keeping my schedule the way it is

I would like to hear suggestions and advice
Thanks

Doing BC after AB is very very important, especially if you are planning on going into a STEM field. Stats can always be taken in college. In fact if you are planning on majoring in CS or engineering I’d say BC is the most important class on your schedule. Option 3 is the best. Be careful not to overburden yourself, your schedule is very tough and you have college apps to work on. If possible I’d reccomend you drop one or two of your AP’s.

Also, senior year GPA isn’t looked at for admissions by most colleges.
