Calculus D or L?

Alright, so I called in to receive my AP scores today, and I (shockingly) got a 5 on my AP Calculus AB exam, which, according to UT's site, gives me credit for M408C, which I had not planned on, as I had signed up for Calculus M408L during orientation.

Since it's not too late to switch classes around, do you guys think

a) Doing the C/D would be easier/higher grade avg than going the K/L/M route I had originally planned on? OR is it just a semester less? Which is easier, straight up, C or L?

b) Does it matter if I take D or L for credit purposes (particularly the business school?), because going C/L as my 2 calc credits doesn't seem right to me...

and c) Which teachers would you reccommend for each course?

Thanks everyone! Sorry if this i coming off as lazy or annoying

What is your major? I am guessing business based on your post. If so, taking K/L or C/L would be the exact same thing for the calculus requirement. Taking C/D would have you learn some things (multivariate, or the part of D that is M) that are not necessary.

I would recommend L mainly because you are shocked that you got a 5. I am guessing you didn’t necessarily feel very strongly when you took the AP exam, so you might not be as good as the test says you are.

Also L covers integral calculus, the harder part (K-differentiation is pretty easy, and a lot of people say M-multivariate is easy too once you’ve had K and L). So you would be going over some material you already learned, which would help you get a better grade.

I would recommend you take L. I got a 5 on the AP Calc BC test, so I got credit for K/L. I am a business major and I have no plans to take any calculus at UT at all.

Well I felt like I aced the exam, and I did really well, but I was expecting a 4, as I’ve never gotten a 5 on an AP test before and considering that it was Calculus, I thought there was no way it was an easier 5 than the rest.

Anyways L does seem like the logical option…do you know if M is required if you take L instead of D?

Any other opinions on the matter would also be welcome if anyone has any :)
