Calculus Equivalent

I completed AP Calculus AB with an A during my junior year of high school and oh my lord how I love calculus. I’ll be taking BC in senior year. This summer, I’m planning on taking a math course at a local community college. There are three types of “Calculus” listed:

MATH 005A - SINGLE VARIABLE CALCULUS I
-Limits and continuity; differentiation and integration of algebraic functions; applications.

MATH 005B - SINGLE VARIABLE CALCULUS II
-Differentiation and integration of trigonometric, exponential, logarithmic, hyperbolic functions, polar, and parametric equations; applications and techniques of integration; indeterminate forms and infinite sequences and series.

MATH 005C - MULTIVARIABLE CALCULUS
-Parametric equations, polar coordinates, vectors and vector calculus, partial differentiation, multiple integration, Green’s theorem, divergence theorem of Gauss, Stokes’ theorem.

To me, Math 5A and a bit of 5B cover topics of Cal AB.

Should I take Calculus II or Multivariable Calculus? Also, there are also Math 7A/B-Math Analysis and Math 010-Linear Algrebra. However, which class should I take that will benefit my resource/knowlegde/(prepare me for Calculus in college, since I’m planning on pursuing engineering)? Sorry for the change in topic, but I really want to stand out for college apps to let them see that I’m capable of handling a challenge. Please give me a reality check on this kind of thought because to be super honest, I feel kind of “inferior” to those students with extensive extracurricular activities and high GPA. (Most people I know say good grades mean you get to go to a good school) Plus, is taking a Cal class during the summer (for 6 weeks) a wise decision? Please don’t mind my ranting. Thank you in advance.

You need Calculus II to be able to fully understand Multivariable. Calculus II is roughly equivalent to Calculus BC. If you take and excel at Calculus II, I don’t see a reason to take BC during the school year.

BC covers up to 5B, so 5C is the obvious next course.

You can try the old 5B final exams to check your knowledge if you have any reason to question your high school calculus courses.

Also be aware that college math moves faster than your high school calculus that took two years to cover the 5A and 5B.
