If you took AP CalcAB and got a 4 on the exam, it looks like you get credit for Calc 140.

Can you then take Calc 131 for Life Science majors instead of Calc 141, if you have not taken Calc 130? You need two semesters of Calculus for a major in Biology and they say it can be Calc 140,141 or Calc 130,131.

If you can take Calc 131 would you be at a disadvantage because you did not take 130? Is the material covered in Calc 130 similar to that covered in AP CalcAB?

You will not be at any disadvantage whatsoever for 131. 130/131 is basically the simplified version of 140/141. Kind of for bio majors who don’t want to go through 140/141. I have friends who have taken BC in high school and took 130/131 this year. They’ve pretty much all said that the material for both semesters is very watered-down compared to their high school calc classes.

This is exactly what they can help you with at orientation; if you aren’t going to orientation, you can always call the department and they’ll be more than happy to go over things :)
