For the life of me I can't get the right answer- which is x-1/2cos2x+c .

Am I forgetting a trig identity or something? Someone please help!

wow very nice enthusiasm can you just ask teacher tomorrow??
cus i can ask homework in due day in my school..

Factor it:

sin^2(x)+2sinxcosx+cos^2(x)
since sin^2(x)+cos^2(x) equals 1, and 2sinxcosx equals sin2x:
sin2x + 1
some can integrate it just like that, but you can do a U substitution:
u = 2x.

Got it from there?
