<p>When do the three critical numbers associated with max/min problems occur?</p>

<p>This is what I said but I dont think it’s all right:</p>

<li>endpoints</li>
<li>where the derivative is equal to 0.</li>
<li>values where the derivative doesn’t exist.</li>
</ol>

<p>That's correct. Those are the only places where a maximum or minimum can occur.</p>
